Hello, we are the Hammons family and are excited to welcome you to Freshfire Church! As a single mother, I have learned that it takes a village to raise four kids and I could not think of a better village than Freshfire! Mikahla (22) is entering her second year of graduate school pursuing a Masters degree at UNC Greensboro. Katelyn (19) is entering her sophomore year at Western Carolina University. Michael (18) just recently graduated from Patton High School and Jacob (16) will be a junior at Patton High School. As for myself, I work for Atrium Health - Health at Home and have my own cake business called Life is Sweet!! 

Over the last 4 years since we have joined Freshfire, we have served in Lil K (childrens ministry) and helped with vacation bible school each year. From the moment we first walked into the church on our first visit, we instantly felt at home and we know you will too! ~ Welcome!! 

Jeff and I have been a part of Freshfire since the beginning of Pastor Sam and Sandy's itinerant at Freshfire!! We are so honored and blessed to be a part of such a loving church family!! We have 3 beautiful children, 3 beautiful granddaughters and currently waiting on our first grandson!! 

Jeff is a member of the Pastor's Counsel and also organizes the speakers for devotions every Sunday morning. Hollie serves on the Women's Board, creates the church bulletins every Sunday, helps with our church decorations, and previously served as our Nursery Coordinator. 

We truly believe that God lead us to Freshfire to be part of something great for His Kingdom!!

Hi! We are Dustin & Heather Buff and have been a part of Freshfire for two years this coming August. Dustin works outside the home as a subcontractor for Charter Communications and Heather is a stay at home mama who enjoys her days being with their son Kamden who is 1. Their daughter Karleigh is almost 8 and loves coming to children's church and also loves seeing all the sweet babies before service begins. We have been married 9 years, 10 this coming October. Dustin serves and helps with the Media department and Heather is part of our Praise & Worship team.

Karleigh's favorite bible verse is John 3:16, Dustin's is Matthew 19:6, and Heather's is Jeremiah 29:11. "We have so many more, but these are just a few that we love!" ~ Welcome to Freshfire!

Hello! We are Brian and Rebecca Vanhorn and have been a part of our Freshfire family for 3 1/2 years. We have three beautiful kids, are family oriented and have been married for 25 years this month!! (Feb. 2020) We absolutley love the outdoors and enjoy everything from gardening to canoeing. Brian helps with the soundboard, Rebecca and Lillian love to help with Little K childrens ministry, Monica is away at college and our youngest Jacob loves to shake hands. Our hearts are lead in servanthood and we are truly blessed to be part of such a loving family here at Freshfire. We look forward to meeting you! ~ Welcome to Freshfire! 

Jordan and Miranda Boughman have been partners with Freshfire for 4 years. They have three daughters, Hollyn (5), Ruthie (4) and Naomi (1). They both have a passion for serving the Lord and being involved with their church family. Jordan serves as a youth leader and assists with running sound for services and special occasions. Miranda is a member of the Women's Board, assists in the nursery and preschool ministries, and serves as the leader of Radiant (a group designed specifically for young women here at Freshfire.) Jordan & Miranda both also enjoy being a part of Freshfire's praise and worship team.

Hi everyone! We are Bret & Connie Guthrie, we came to Freshfire 5 years ago in 2014 . We walked through the front doors, sat down and felt at "home" immediately. Our prayer is that you will feel the same way and join our family in Christ!

We are from a small town in NW Ohio, we went to school together but God did not put us together until 2010. Bret was Connie's answer to prayer and God knew that Connie was what Bret needed. We thank God every day for blessing us with each other. In 2013, we took a huge leap of faith and followed God's calling to Hickory, NC. 

Bret is part of the Praise & Worship team and men's group Men of Fire and Connie helps in the nursery and is a part of our women's group Women Ablaze. We also enjoy many of the Young at Heart events. We share 4 children and 6 grandchildren. Some of them have made NC their home also, with more to come in the near future. ~ Welcome to Freshfire!!
